What and why is QEWS?

Qews was originally developed by two people to report wait times at nightclubs, bars, restaurants and popular hotspots in major metropolitan areas. The scope has since been expanded to include more businesses and services that may experience long wait times and line-ups.

What businesses can I search for?

You can search several categories of businesses and services like grocery, pharmacy, liquor and beer stores, banks and some big box retailers like Walmart, Costco, Home Depot and more. There really is no limited to what you can search but the obvious popular locations will have the most reported wait times.

How does QEWS get wait times?

Another good question. The most accurate and current wait times are reported by people like you. Were counting on every day citizens to report line-ups at places they visit often. It only takes 2 taps in the app to do this. The Qews app indicates the last reported wait time for every user-submitted time. We calculate and display the average of what is reported. However, many people could be in line that are not reporting.

How accurate are QEWS wait times?

Thats a great question and difficult to answer. Things can change fast at popular locations and during peak times. The app may report a 5-minute wait, then 5 minutes later 20 more people show up. We’re relying on people like you to report wait times. So the more people that report the more current and accurate times will be. This helps everyone save time allowing people to plan their day accordingly.
